Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro  has been referred to as the “Garden of Eden” or the "Eighth Wonder of the World".

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most beautiful features in Africa.  Maasai pastoralists coexist with resident game and do limited farming.  Its circular wall which rises into six Mountains over 3,000 meters high, started as a huge active volcano. Eight million years ago when the volcano erupted, its cone collapsed leaving a caldera about 610 metres deep, 20kms across and about 300 sq kms in area.
